Wang Minzheng, director of the administrative committee of the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone, led an inspection group on Jan 16 to visit Majinpu Community within the Zone and examine the local government's work.
In the community, local officials explained in detail how they communicated with residents, found their difficulties and solved problems. They also put forward an idea to relocate all the villagers in the community for a better development pattern of local production and life since the existing one is outdated and impeding the village's development.
Wang commented favorably on the new idea but required local officials to ask for villagers' opinions on this idea and respect their willingness. He said that the Zone would give them support whenever they needed it.
Officials also talked about the quality of drinking water and construction of parking lots. Wang promised to solve the problems for Majinpu and asked relevant departments to carry out further on-the-spot investigations and analysis and come up with solutions as soon as possible.
"Majinpu Community is one of the oldest villages in the Zone and it used to be the leading one in economic and cultural development among the 13 communities. However, its slow rate of growth makes us worried. We need to band together to boost its development and bring more benefits to local residents," said Wang.
