Pu'er Tea Trade Fair closes in Kunming

The four-day 10th China Yunnan Pu'er Tea Trade Fair drew to close in Kunming city, Yunnan province, on May 18. The fair achieved a total trading volume of approximately 1.275 billion yuan ($205.45 million).
Covering an area of 20,000 square meters, the fair hosted more than 1,000 stalls, where 400 enterprises displayed tea products such as Pu'er and oolong. The exhibitors included a variety of individuals and enterprises specializing in tea production and sales, research and development institutions, and professional cooperatives.
The trade fair also arranged a production and sales meeting, tea quality appraisal activities and held tea parties for enterprises and online marketing exhibitions. Close to 80,000 people were attracted to the event. Of the visitors was an extra 1,200 agents compared to last year.
The annual fair began in 2006 as a platform to promote Yunnan tea's popularity, expand the channel of distribution of tea and increase communication among tea enterprises.
