The 3rd China-South Asia Expo which takes place in the city of Kunming，Yunnan province, June 12-16, has 168 local enterprises registered to take part, the local commerce bureau has announced, with a better selection of local agricultural products, food processing methods, bio-pharmaceuticals, and folk culture products than for the previous sessions.

The Kunming booth will have bridge, sailing ship and other similar decorations to suggest the possibilities of China's Belt and Road Initiative, of which Kunming is a part. Some of the local enterprises taking part are the Yunnan Copper Group, and Yunnan Baiyao, a leading traditional Chinese medicine manufacturer.

The Kunming area will also have an e-commerce site to show the products and services of the Kunming High-Tech Zone's National E-commerce Demonstration Base, a subsidiary of Alibaba, along with an industrial cluster of international e-commerce companies.

The exhibition theme is "Opening-up Kunming", so the focus will be on Kunming's development, its special industries and culture, some key industrial projects in nearby counties, three national resort developments, and one provincial industrial park, through the use of LED screens, pictures, and models.

The exhibition zone will have smaller areas for agricultural products, food processing, bio-pharmaceutical products, folk culture, and crop substitutes.
