The 2015 China-South Asia and Southeast Asia Arts Week will be held in Kunming, Yunnan province from June 11 to 16, according to the Yunnan Literary and Arts Federation on June 2.
The arts week is one of the ten major events scheduled for the 3rd China-South Asia Expo that will take place in Kunming in mid-June. During the Arts Week, a series of performances and forums will be held to display different cultures of the participating countries, a spokesman for the Federation announced.
The week will feature three eye-catching activities. First, writers from China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and India will attend a forum to exchange ideas on different schools of literature and diverse cultural backgrounds.
The second main activity will be an exhibition about the Yunnan folk culture. 20 highly skilled artists will be invited to showcase their unique handcrafts, including dough sculptures and pyrography.
In the final main event, Indian and Chinese dancers will perform traditional dances from both countries and teach some students from 10 universities and colleges in Kunming how to dance in traditional style.
