The Kunming Hi-Tech Zone plans to sign 14 cooperation agreements, valued at 16 billion yuan ($2.58 billion) at the 3rd China-South Asia Expo to be held in Kunming, Yunnan province June 12-16.

The cooperation agreements consist of 14 investment projects, including one with foreign capital, in the fields of finance, IT, new materials, manufacturing, general aviation and electricity. The domestic investment partners are mainly companies based in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen in Guangdong, Xi’an in Shaanxi, and prefectures in Yunnan province.

The expo will also see commencement ceremonies of four projects recently built in the Kunming Hi-Tech Zone. Among them is the 3D printing technology that draws the attention by multiple industries as it is used to manufacture components and parts for spacecraft, vehicles, and medical implants and to produce artworks that manifest the characteristics of ethnic groups in Yunnan.
