The China-South Asia Expo presents a great opportunity for regional economic collaboration, said a higher official of overseas Chinese affairs office.
The event will be staged from June 12 to 16 in Kunming city, Yunnan province. The province borders several Southeast Asian countries.
A rough data shows that more than two million Chinese from Yunnan have lived in foreign communities across South and Southeast Asia.
And commercial chambers of Chinese businessmen in these countries are the most proactive of all migrants.
According to Zhuang Rongwen, deputy head of overseas Chinese affairs office with the State Council, "these Chinese businessmen will work with the CSA Expo to promote economic and cultural exchanges among regional countries."
Yunnan is China's gateway to both the Greater Mekong Subregion area and the Bangladesh-India-Myanmar-China economic zone. It is also important because of its role in facilitating the Belt and Road Initiative.
