Attracting more than 100 children from Taiwan and the mainland, the Ninth China Angel Summer Camp opens in Pu'er city, Southwest China's Yunnan province on July 14.
The summer camp activity is themed of "Mystery Yunnan" which aims to provide children an opportunity to explore the Yunnan's local culture and ecological environment.
In the Pu'er city, children of the camp visited Pu'er Taiyanghe National Park which is in the Southeast of Simao district. It’s the China's only primeval forest on the Tropic of Cancer. It covers an area of 207 square kilometers and has various green plants.
The opening ceremony with ethnic customs of the summer camp was also held in the park. After the ceremony, a long-table feast with Yunnan ethnic feature was also prepared for the young guests.
Vice secretary of Pu'er city Chang Tangyao delivered a speech during the opening ceremony. Chang hoped that through the summer camp, children in the camp can better know each other and gain the friendship.
According to the activity organizer, children from the summer camp will stay in the national park for two days. Various activities will be carried out during summer camp including making Pu'er tea.
