A series of original ecological folk custom shows were staged in Shanghai's Yuyuan Garden on July 26.
Performed by artists from Pu'er city – a region in Southwest China's Yunnan province famous for its high quality tea - the activities were aimed at introducing ecological topics and preserving health for people living in cities.
Songs and dances featuring Pu'er characteristics, such as the traditional dances of Lahu ethnic group and others, were performed. The promotion activities will last until August 9.
During the event, representatives from Pu'er introduced local tourism routes and features, such as leisure and health maintenance tours, original ecological tours, Pu'er tea travel and self-driving tours at Wuliang Mountain.
More than 50 tourism enterprises in Shanghai and a dozen media organizations attended the promotional event.
In recent years, the government of Pu'er has sought to develop the city into a prime destination for visitors to enjoy a natural environment and spend their holiday. The city has also made efforts to attract more enterprises to invest in city’s tourism products. To promote tourism, a new airport is currently under construction close to Pu'er city.
