The Yunnan Pu'er Tea Trade Center opened on Sept 14 in Yunnan's Pu'er city with the aim of establishing itself as a comprehensive trade platform to better serve its customers.
More than 13 tea companies from pu'er tea production areas in Yunnan, such as Lincang and Xishuangbannan, signed contracts allowing them to enter the tea trade center.
To ensure the quality of Pu'er tea products, the center will cooperate with the National Pu'er Tea Quality Supervision Test Center and the Tea Products Quality Supervision Test Center of the Ministry of Agriculture to provide a third party quality supervision service.
"Experts will strictly control the quality of tea to ensure that customers can safely buy tea from the trade platform," said a senior from the Yunnan Pu’er Tea Trade Center.
Wei Xing, the Party chief of Pu'er city, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. As the origin and main production area of Pu’er tea, the city holds tea as its most important asset. "The construction of the Yunnan Pu'er Tea Trade Center is significant to the development of Yunnan's tea industry," said Wei.
Wei also pointed out that the new tea trade center will contribute to the improvement of Pu'er tea's brand value and promotes the transformation and upgrading of the city's tea industry.
