Jingketang is a famous Kesi workshop located on Zhengfeng Cultural Street in Zhouzhuang. Kesi is a type of silk tapestry woven with intricate pictures. The designation Kesi, which means cut silk, derives from the visual illusion of cut threads that is created by distinct, unblended areas of color. Kesi first rose to prominence during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) and thrived until the end of the following Qing Dynasty(1644-1911).

In 2009, Kesi was proclaimed as one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
