The 2019 Fresh Pitch Conference, a national event for documentary and cultural exchanges, was held in Zhouzhuang, an iconic water town in East China's Jiangsu province on June 1-3.
Numerous experts and scholars worldwide including Zhang Yanli, head of the docuchina.cn, Miu Zhihong, head of the Jiangsu provincial bureau of radio and television, Xu Yulian, head of the Kunshan municipal department of publicity and Elizabeth Radshaw, chief of the HotDocs documentary festival have been invited, offering their in-depth sights into the fields such as documentary, science and technology, media and arts.
The event, which celebrates its fourth edition this year, is held in Zhouzhuang for the first time.
In a bid to boost the growth of documentaries in Jiangsu, Miu announced the establishment of an action plan during the conference, which shall grant excellent documentary producers in the province preferential policies and subsidies.
Meanwhile the event also provided opportunity for visiting guests to get to know Zhouzhuang, which dubbed the "Venice of the East". The town is noted for its profound history, elegant waterway views and well-preserved old buildings.
