One of International Newcomer Network’s most popular monthly events, INN Trekkies, will next be held on Thursday, Oct 13.
The group heads to different destinations every month, usually past some of Beijing’s hidden gems. October’s hike will head for Coal Hill in Jingshan Park, which is north of the Forbidden City.
A popular tourist spot, the hill boasts some picturesque points and a wealth of historical significance, including being the site where Chongzhen, the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.
The trek starts at 9:30 am and finishes at about 2 pm. Space is limited so e-mail innbeijing@hotmail.com to claim a spot. For more information about the INN, click here.
