IBM has developed a computer chip that it says will function like a human brain, foreign media reported. TrueNorth is hailed as the world's first neurosynaptic(神经突触) computer chip because it can figure things out on its own. With 1m "neurons"(神经元) and 256m programmable synapses(突触), the chip could cram the same power as a super computer into a circuit the size of a postage stamp. That's far lower than the 100b neurons and 100 trillion to 150 trillion synapses in the human brain - but still enough to run devices that could, for example, proactively issue tsunami alerts or do oil-spill monitoring, according to IBM.
