Heart-shaped power station
小岛建浪漫心形发电厂
A glittering, heart-shaped solar plant is being built on the South Pacific island of New Caledonia (see photo), foreign media reported. Dubbed as "the world's most beautiful power station", the "heart" will begin producing energy for 750 homes on the French overseas territory from early 2015. Made by solar company Conergy, the 2MW "Heart of New Caledonia" is expected to save around 2m tons of carbon dioxide emissions in the 25 years following its launch.
据外媒报道，位于南太平洋的新喀里多尼亚岛上正在建造一座闪闪发光的心形太阳能发电厂(见图)。该发电厂被誉为"世界上最美丽的发电厂"，将于2015年初向这个法国海外领地上的750个家庭供电。这座名为"新喀里多尼亚之心"的发电厂，发电功率可达2兆瓦，由太阳能公司康能建造，有望在启用后的25年内减少2百万吨二氧化碳排放量。
