Breast cancer summit to be held in Beijing as cases grow

A Breast Cancer Summit, organized by the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, will be held in Beijing on Friday. The summit will see the launch of a guidebook for breast cancer diagnoses and treatment. This type of cancer is the main cause of death among female cancer patients in China. In Beijing alone, the incidence rate has climbed by 4.6 percent annually in the last two decades, more than double the annual global average of 2 percent. And more young women have been diagnosed with breast cancer in recent years. Early detection and treatment can boost the survival rate dramatically.

Wuxi to host Asian Table Tennis Championships

The Asian Table Tennis Championships will be held in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, from Sunday to April 16. More than 200 participants from 30 countries and regions will attend the event. The biennial tournament is organized by the International Table Tennis Federation. The 2015 event in Thailand saw a dominant Chinese performance in which the team won six of the seven disciplines.

Shenzhen academy to release economic report

The Shenzhen Innovative Development Academy will release its latest report on China's reform policy on Friday. It will examine progress in rebalancing the economy, and will recommend further measures to ensure sustainable growth, the academy said. The nongovernmental think tank has released an annual report since 2014.

Shanghai Fashion Week, which starts on Friday, attracts designers from home and abroad to present their latest collections. Since it was first held in 2001, the week has become a major event in the global fashion industry.
