Injured Taiwan tourists treated

Tourists from Taiwan injured in a bus crash in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region have received timely treatment, the local Taiwan affairs office said on Friday. The bus was carrying 21, including 18 tourists and a guide from Taiwan, when the accident happened in Fuyun county at 4:29 pm on Wednesday. All the injured were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Four of the passengers, including one with serious injuries, are scheduled to return to Taiwan on Friday night. One slightly injured is being treated in hospital. The rest have continued on their journey.

Alert renewed on heavy rainfall

China's national weather observatory continued a yellow alert - the third most severe in a four-tier system - for rainstorms on Friday, as heavy rain is expected across the country. On Friday and Saturday, heavy rain is expected in parts of Anhui, Hubei, Jiangxi and Zhejiang with precipitation of up to 160 millimeters, according to the National Meteorological Center. Thunder, gales and hail were forecast for the above regions.
