Travel: Wine bath resort in Japan

The Beaujolais Nouveau wine baths were officially launched on Nov 21 in Hakone, west of Tokyo. The beverage-based bathing experience includes a "red wine" hot spring with a 3.6-meter-tall wine bottle. Visitors can see the wine show, in which staff members spray bathers with a bottle of Hakone wine. Whether a visitor sees the show or not, the red wine bath is perfect for every wine lover. "Bathing in wine is a rejuvenation treatment for the body," according to the spa. Japan is a major market for the French Beaujolais Nouveau. According to local media reports, about 5.3 million bottles of the wine will be imported to Japan by the end of the year.

World: Monkey festival held in Thailand

The annual Monkey Buffet Festival was held in Lopburi, Bangkok, Thailand, on Nov 24 in the overgrown and ruined Khmer temple of Pra Prang Sam Yot, where the majority of the monkeys live. The monkeys are treated with reverence and respect and are even cordially invited to attend the feast with invitations attached to cashew nuts and distributed to the guests of honor. Bananas, mangos, dragon fruits, apples, pineapples, durians and other tropical fruit was spread out for the Macaques to feast upon. The festival typically begins with live performances and dances that draw the monkeys out. The nonspiritual cultural feast is said to bring good luck to the townspeople.
