Full efforts shall be made to provide the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games with efficient, secure and reliable communications, according to the 80th session of the Executive Board of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) held Thursday.
It was noted at the meeting that the preparation of the communications network for the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games is making smooth progress. While backup plans shall be improved to deal with any problems, the functioning of the wireless network of the government will be guaranteed through the operation of the "Good Luck Beijing" sports events.
The EB also discussed the working plan for the inspection over the Olympic venue operations. Under the leadership of BOCOG and the guidance of the supervision commission, the BOCOG Audit & Supervision department, together with local supervision departments, will send a supervision office to each venue.
The EB stressed that the principle of "frugality" in staging the Games shall be resolutely carried out and that the supervision mechanism and system over the venue operation shall be established and improved. Through management and supervision, the financial, material, and human resources shall be allocated and utilized in a scientific way.
The EB also discussed a variety of other matters.
