Liu Qi meets with Verbruggen

Liu Qi, president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) met with Hain Verbruggen, chairman of the IOC Coordination Commission for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on Wednesday.
Verbruggen is in Beijing to attend the commission's eighth full session.
Extending appreciation for the commission's continuing support for the Beijing Games, Liu said BOCOG will complete the shift of its working systems and schemes towards the Games-time mode in 2007, a decisive year for the Olympic preparations. BOCOG will complete the formation of the venue teams and will create a clean, secure and beautiful urban environment for the Games through a sound urban operation, service, logistics and emergency-response system, and will strengthen cooperation with IOC and the coordination commission to continuously improve the Olympic preparations.
Verbruggen said BOCOG has achieved encouraging progress in its preparatory work for the 29th Olympiad and his commission will continue as always to support and help BOOCG's preparations.
Vice Mayor of Beijing and BOCOG Executive Vice-President Liu Jingmin, BOCOG Executive Vice-President and Secretary-General Wang Wei, and IOC Olympic Games Executive Director Gilbert Felli were present at the meeting.
