After over 1,000 days of construction, the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium is now on its way toward inauguration.

The building, which looks like a waterdrop, has become a landmark building in the co-host city of the 29th Olympiad and a gateway to Beijing.

The Chinese women football team had a week-long training in the sports facility last week. The team members were quite excited to see its sophistication.

The stadium, 380 meters long, 270 meters wide and 53 meters high, can stage international football competitions and athletics.

Along with such affiliated facilities as big marketplace, exhibition hall, conference room and gym, the stadium is also able to provide the public with space for entertainment, exercises and shopping.

With ground-breaking taking place in August 2003, the 60,000-seat project has a land surface of 78,000 square meters. It will host Olympic football preliminaries.
