The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) began mailing out letters notifying individuals the results of the first phase of ticket sales on August 27.
Those who successfully submitted a ticket application will soon receive a letter informing them of their ticket purchase results.
The Beijing Olympic Ticketing Center received 720,000 applications requesting 5.18 million tickets across the country.
Over 300,000 people across the Chinese mainland were able to reserve 1,593,345 tickets to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
The ticketing center stressed that as long as an applicant successfully submits an order form, he will receive a letter, either by post or by e-mail, with his ticket purchase results.
Once the order is confirmed, payment will be required by mid-September.
Tickets which are forfeited and unpaid will be sold during Phase II of ticket sales, which will begin in October.
