China is expected to experience a marriage boom next year as many plan to tie the knot in 2008, the year of the Beijing Olympics. Reservations for August wedding banquets have hit a peak.
Over 100,000 couples are expected to be wed in 2008, a year regarded auspicious for having an "8". August 8, 2008 will witness an even greater number of weddings, as it will coincide with the opening of the Beijing Olympics. Reservations in some hotels for the wedding feast on that day are already full.
