More than 1,000 Olympic volunteers have started an eight-day intensive foreign language course as they prepare for August's Games.

Over the next seven days, the volunteers will take twelve lessons each day, studying general language skills as well as learning special terms specific to the Olympics.
They will also be trained in the simulated scenarios and take four tests each day, prior to meals and bed time.
