LAGOS -- Four Nigerian boxers have qualified for the Olympics in Beijing as the boxing qualifiers ended in Windhoek, Namibia on Saturday night.
Secretary General of the Boxing Federation of Nigeria, Patrick Uwagbale broke the news of their qualification to the press in a telephone interview in Johannesburg.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Uwagbale who led the Nigeria delegation to Windhoek gave the names of the Beijing-bound boxers as Ehiwere Onorode, Dauda Izodo, Ikenne Daloko, and Rasheed Lawal.
He said, "We still hope to pick another qualification ticket from the remaining fights."
