However, providing great food for Olympic athletes from different countries across the world is no easy task. "We will try our best to provide the best we can," Deng said.

Compared with the Olympic villages for previous Olympic Games in other countries, which Deng has stayed or visited, the biggest attraction for the Beijing Olympic Village lies in its Chinese culture.

"For most of the (foreign) athletes I've talked with, they are amazed at the Chinese culture. They want to try, to feel what is the real Chinese culture."

From being a professional athlete to one of the organizers of the Olympics, Deng said her participation in the previous Olympic Games gave her the chance to know more about other countries, athletes and peoples, and helped her to work for the Olympic Village.
