BEIJING -- Chinese Taipei eyes at least two gold medals at the Beijing Games, and the total medal count should not be less than that have achieved in Athens, said Cai Cijue, chef of the mission on Sunday as the delegation just arrived in the Olympic Village.
"We share the same language and living habits with the Chinese mainland, which will give us advantage to present better performance. We are very confident of doing a better job here," he said.
"We expect to clinch gold medal in taekwondo again," Cai said with confidence.
He told Xinhua that the Olympic venues impressed him a lot. "China has honored its commitment promised in 2001, which leaves rich legacy to the Games."
At the Athens Games, Chinese Taipei scored two gold medals in taekwondo, two silver and one bronze medals.
