Serbian president wishes Beijing Olympics success

BELGRADE-- Serbian President Boris Tadic Monday highly praised China's achievements in its development, and wished the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games a complete success.

Serbia's ties with China are one of the key pillars in Serbia's diplomatic policies, said the president while accepting credentials from the new Chinese ambassador Wei Jinghua.

Serbia firmly adheres to the one-China policy and regards Taiwan as an inalienable part of China, and the Tibet issue belongs to China's internal affairs, said the president.

Serbia appreciates China's stance on the issue of Kosovo, he said.

The Chinese ambassador said China highly values the traditional friendship with Serbia and is willing to strengthen the cooperation in various sectors with Serbia on a mutually beneficial basis.

China appreciates Serbia's respect for China's sovereignty and territory integrity, as well as Serbia's support for the Beijing Olympics, said Wei.
