Trickett wins women's 100m butterlfy Olympic gold

BEIJING -- Libby Trickett of Australia has won the women's 100-meter butterfly, capturing her first Olympic gold by holding off American Christine Magnuson.

Trickett was under world-record pace at the turn, but she finished in 56.73 seconds -- just 0.12 off the word record. Magnuson was second in 57.10, while another Aussie, Jess Schipper, took bronze in 57.25.
