Brabants of Britain wins men's kayak single (K1) 1,000m

BEIJING -- British paddler Tim Brabants snatched the gold medal in men's kayak single (K1) 1000m at Beijing Olympics in Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park on Friday with a result of three minutes and 26.323 seconds.

The silver went to Norway's Eirik Veraas Larsen with 3:27.342 and Australia's Ken Wallace took the bronze in 3:27.485.
Tim took the lead in the whole race and he did not slow down in the final sprint.
