Charity in any way welcome

As long as donors can really help the needy, it is okay if they shout about it, since more people might follow suit, says an article in Chengdu Evening Post. The following is an excerpt: Chen Guangbiao, famed top Chinese philanthropist, said recently that he would go to the quake-affected areas in Sichuan with 63 entrepreneurs from Jiangsu province to give away "red packets" (lucky money) to victims during Spring Festival. It is said that the lucky money, which Chen would give away, stands at more than 2 million yuan. Some critics said that by talking about their donations, these entrepreneurs were trying to show off before the public. But the truth is, if more and more entrepreneurs join Chen in his journey to Sichuan, quake victims can hope for more help. As the financial crisis looms over the globe, not many enterprises have the heart to open their palms to donate. It's not easy for entrepreneurs like Chen Guangbiao to shoulder the social responsibility and send warmth to the quake zone.
