Living in this city, what makes me so proud of it is not only its history as a famous historical city, but also its bright future as a thriving modern city. Speaking of what I love most of the city, I’d like to say it’s not the profound cultural background, but those quiet and peaceful moments I enjoyed.
1.Fengcheng River in Taizhou Taizhou is a city surrounded by acres of water, through which the Fengcheng River has nurtured generations of Taizhou citizens. The river is one of the few ancient rivers that still exist in Jiangsu Province.
2. Peach Orchard
The best time of the year to go there is when the peach trees begin to blossom. In spring, the orchards will be brilliantly embellished with peach blossoms in different colors, with babbling brooks flowing and rocks surrounding the orchard. When walking through the Peach Orchard, you will feel as if you are in a wonderland, leaving the hectic and noisy world behind.
3.Wanghai Tower “Wanghai” means “overlooking the sea from a distance”. Wanghai Tower is the landmark of Taizhou, dating back to the Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279) in the reign of Emperor Shaoding. Wanghai Tower is acclaimed as the greatest tower in the area between the Yangtze River and the Huai River.
4.Rishe Garden “Rishe” in Chinese means being sunlit. Rishe Garden is one of the earliest classical gardens in the northern area of Jiangsu Province, featuring the small and exquisite layout which bears some resemblance to the styles of gardens south of the Yangtze River. Walking through the garden, you can delight in the beautiful green scenery of the whole garden, breathing in the fresh air and fragrant aroma of flowers. A visit to the garden is a feast for all your senses.
5. Qingfeng Tower
Qingfeng Tower is a 20-meter-high, three story building with octagonal eaves, lying opposite Wanghai Tower across the river. Standing at the top of the tower gives you a feeling of ruling the world.
6.Yingchun Bridge
Yingchun Bridge used to be a river bridge linking Phoenix Mound and Baojia Plain in the east of the moat surrounding Taizhou, an important passage into the city. It is a delight to row a boat on the moat and appreciate the gorgeous scenery.
7. Taizhou Garden & Flower Expo Park It is located south of downtown, bordering Xinjian East Road and extending along Gulou Road and Hailing Road northward to downtown. Thirteen cities from Jiangsu Province have set their themed garden in the park, to signify their unique features, but what I love most in the park are the flowers and other plants, which always lighten my mood.
8. Commercial center in Pozi Street Pozi Street is an old commercial street in Taizhou, the most prosperous street. It’s renowned in the Lixia River region, located in the center of Jiangsu Province. Buildings on both sides of Pozi Street are being renovated and expanded in rapid succession, which turns Pozi Street into an important commercial center of Taizhou.
9. City Life of Taizhou When night falls, people start enjoying the night life after a whole day of working. Taizhou never sleeps at night, taking on the same lively atmosphere as during the day.
