longzhou (Spain)
Spain in the early 60's was not a very prosperous place but if one tried hard you could still find odd jobs to do during weekends and summer vacations. My father was an architect so my first pocket money was when I was 13 measuring the meters of trench the workers were digging every day for the electrical and water pipes. I had to ride a bicycle from site to site so that gave me a passion for cycling, apart from well earned money!
