It is said Hulun Buir has the most beautiful grassland in China and the most beautiful city, I think, must be Manzhouli. A pearl inlaid in the grassland of Hulun Buir, it is like a crystal city in a fairy tale. Once you catch sight of it you will fall in love.
1 Hulun Lake Hulun Lake, or Dalai Lake, is the largest in Inner Mongolia and is the only big expanse of water for thousands of miles in Northern China. It has waters and marshland, where you cannot only appreciate splendid scenery, but also taste delicacies made from many kinds of fish and shrimps.
2 The Gate of China in Manzhouli
The biggest gate at a Chinese land port can be found 8 kilometers west of Manzhouli city center where the international railway passes through. There are many scenic spots and all are don’t miss tourist destinations.
3 The Wedding Palace of Manzhouli Situated in the east of downtown Manzhouli, the Wedding Palace is the only Gothic-style one in China as well as being the world’s largest. It is a tourist destination and also a venue to hold western-style weddings. With the Square of Matryoshka Dolls to the western side it is one of the two permanent European-style landmarks in Manzhouli.
4 The Square of Matryoshka Dolls The Square of the Matryoshka Doll is a geographic feature at the confluence of China, Russia and Mongolia. The main building is a giant matryoshka doll, on which are painted three beautiful girls symbolizing the three countries. In front of the doll is a musical fountain plaza. At night, the square appears as a colorful fairyland.
5 Nighttime in Manzhouli Many people who come to Manzhouli for the first time will be amazed at its beauty, which lies not only in the buildings but also the nighttime surrounded by orange light, modest yet magnificent.
6 Russian atmosphere in Manzhouli
In this city, you can see Russian girls as beautiful as dolls, plump and lovely middle-aged women frequenting big malls. When you are in Manzhouli, you will feel like having stepped into a small town in Europe without going abroad.
I always hold that the ultimate beauty of Manzhouli exists in each person’s daily life. No matter whether you are the host or simply a passer-by, if you can spend half a day strolling along streets and lanes, listening with your heart and feeling with your mind, appreciating the slow pace of living, your connection to the city will be everlasting.
