In his Government Work Report on Thursday, Premier Li Keqiang said that China will draw up an "Internet Plus" action plan to propel the mobile Internet, cloud computing, big data, the Internet of things and modern manufacturing, in order to promote the healthy development of e-commerce and Internet finance and lead Internet enterprises to explore international markets.
Miao Wei, minister of industry and information technology, told the media that the strategic concept of the "Internet Plus" in Premier Li's Government Work Report guarantees China's transformation from a big manufacturing country to a powerful manufacturing country.
Internet technology changes rapidly, he said, the integration of the Internet and traditional industries could add fuel to China's economic growth. He also stressed that in the future China will guide leading Internet companies such as Alibaba, Tencent and Baidu to participate in the "Internet Plus" strategy.
Enterprises have responded warmly to the "Internet Plus" concept. Ma Huateng, chief executive officer of Tencent Holdings, said it will help boost both the Internet industry and society.
