On Sunday, Premier Li Keqiang participated in a panel discussion of the Shandong provincial delegation at the current session of the 12th National People's Congress to review the Government Work Report.
During the discussion, Li pointed out that the governments should regard solving "the pain points for people's livelihoods" as significant areas for government work. These pain points include education, medical treatment, housing, social security and food safety.
The authorities should stick to the bottom line of guaranteeing people's livelihoods, Li said, and accelerate the work of eliminating poverty and improving people's sense of well-being during the process of building a well-off society in an all-round way.
Li's remarks show the government will pay attention to things closely related to people's daily lives.
Problems such as housing and medical treatment are people's main concerns. Only when the government addresses these problems through in-depth and all-round reform will the public really benefit from social progress.
The focus on these problems shows the sense of responsibility of the leadership, and the authorities should not avoid these problems because of the difficulties they face in dealing with them.
