Is China becoming a cashless society?

I use cash only for payment. There is one major advantage about cash, in that it ALWAYS works. Machines break down. Phones get lost or broken. I can get cash out at any bank machine, and there are thousands of them. And some small purchases are not worth bothering with a card or a phone.
