Chinese visitors walk on the Lugouqiao Bridge in southwestern suburb of Beijing on March 18, 2006. The "July 7 Incident" , or "the Lugouqiao Incident", which marked the beginning of the 8-year war against Japanese invasion (1937-45), started here on July 7, 1937. In the incident Japanese invading troops launched an assault on Chinese army.
