Sisters strive to make their way to college

Sisters Liu Jing (L) and Liu Xinxin, from a poor rural family in Wangji village of Tancheng town, peel willow twigs in the town of Tancheng county, Linyi City, East China's Shandong province, July 15, 2010. The sisters, whose performance in the recent college entrance examinations passed the preliminary benchmark for a prestigious unversity, must work all summer to pay for their tuition. The family has been impoverished by the high medical expense of their paralyzed mother over the past 10 years. Their father was also forced to go out to find work years ago, leaving the sisters to live with their grandparents.[Photo/Xinhua]
