Hero surgeon’s home favored by Chinese tourists

Chinese tourists take photos in front of the former residence of Norman Bethune, a Canadian surgeon who died in 1939 while tending wounded Chinese soldiers during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. To commemorate the international fighter, the Canadian government bought his former residence in Ontario in 1976, converted it into a memorial museum and opened it to the public. As a symbol of Sino-Canadian friendship, it has attracted more than 100,000 Chinese visitors. [Photo/Xinhua]
