Xin said she began modeling for an online clothes shop after a recommendation from a friend. “I have modeled for the online business for three years and am paid about 1,000 yuan ($149) a day. Although I was not paid this much at the beginning”, she said. Xin is just one of many female students at Jiaxing College who dabble in modeling while studying, despite having no professional training.
