Leave me alone, handsome bus driver pleads

A handsome bus driver in central China’s Hubei province is pleading for passengers not to interrupt his driving after his photos caused a sensation on China's microblog.

Peng Kai, 25, became a bus driver eight months ago in Wuhan, Hubei province. He earned unsolicited fame as the “most handsome bus driver in Wuhan” after photos of the well-dressed young man spread wildly on the microblog.

“Some passengers took photos of me on the bus without realizing that they blocked the rearview mirror,” he said. “Some women asked me directly for my cell phone number, and this may pose danger to my driving.”

Peng Kai said he only wants to drive passengers safely to their destinations and asked people not to interrupt his work.

This is not the first time that the city became energized for good-looking bus drivers. In January 2011, a bus driver, who looked like the Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu, was also crowned as the “most handsome bus driver in Wuhan.”
