Bridge construction leads to massive fish deaths

Dead fish lie on the banks of Fuhe River, over which the construction of two new bridges is close to completion, in Nanchang city, capital of East China's Jiangxi province, Aug 17, 2011. Two temporary barrages were constructed in the river channel to block the river in order to make way for the bridge construction. The almost-stagnant waters heated by the summer's scorching sunshine resulted in a soar in water temperature, making it uninhabitable for fish, causing the massive fish deaths.
