205 dogs saved from slaughterhouse

Dogs rescued from a slaughterhouse are seen in Pengzhou, Chengdu city, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province, Dec 14, 2011. Days earlier, 14 dog protectors stopped a van loaded with dogs and then discovered a hidden location for trading and slaughtering dogs in Dujia community, Tianpeng town of Pengzhou. After the local authorities were informed, all 205 dogs kept in cages were confiscated for lacking the proper quarantine certificates. All the dogs will now be sent to the Qiming Beastie Protecting Center of Sichuan, but they were still being held at the slaughter site as of 9:00 pm on Dec 14 due to local residents' protests.
