COFCO joy city will set a new landmark in Shenyang

Shenyang Top Glory Square became COFCO joy city after a signing ceremony to change the city’s name was held in Shenyang, Liaoning province on July 23. Nine projects were also signed at the ceremony, including UNIQLO, BELLE and K-2.

Joy city is a shopping mall established by COFCO, one of the world’s top 500 enterprises. The original project covered 520,000 square meters, located in Zhongjie, a leading CBD of Shenyang.

It is planning to open in two phases and will be completed by 2010.

The project is designed by Laguarda Low Architects LLC.

"We want to give people a different experience rather than a shopping mall." said Maxime Hrayssi, the designer of joy city.

"We pay much attention to people's spiritual demand. And we try to make them happy and lead a new lifestyle." Zhang Baoquan, manger of Shenyang Top Glory Square House Development Co Ltd, told China Daily.
