Police nab fugitive after seven years

A fugitive in Rongchang county, Chongqing municipality, was arrested last Tuesday by police, seven years after he allegedly killed a man and escaped.

The man, Li, had escaped to Sichuan and Guizhou provinces, as well as the Tibet autonomous region to evade police.

Police in Nanping district discovered during a routine checkup of local residents late last year that Li had returned to the city.

Police monitored Li's house for 16 days and then arrested him. He was transferred to the Rongchang county police bureau.
