Animation and computer game festival to open in Shenyang

The first Northeast Asia festival of animation and computer games will be held in Shenyang, capital of northeast China’s Liaoning province from August 12 to 16. Organizers of the event include the Shenyang municipal government, the Preparatory Committee of Hong Kong Animation and the Shenbei district government.

There will be three events held during the festival, including No.1 ACG Expo in N.E. Asia, a forum on venture capital in the animation industry and CEO Summit for animation industry development.

Shenyang is one of the bases for the animation sector in China. There are 107 animation enterprises and over 5,000 industry experts in the city. The output of the industry reached 150 million yuan last year. Shenbei district has also introduced 18 large-scale cultural and creative projects to become the city’s center for creative industry and a national base for the animation industry.
