Dow launches innovation hub in Shanghai

Updated: 2009-06-03 11:21 SHANGHAI: The world's leading specialty chemicals company, the Dow Chemical Company, on Tuesday announced here that it has launched a new business and innovation hub, the Shanghai Dow Center, in the nation's economic hub. Covering over 100,000 sqm, the center is comprised of the research and development facility and Dow's regional headquarters for the Asia-Pacific region. With over 500 engineers and scientists working in more than 80 labs, the center will develop innovative solutions for the constructions, transportation, energy, water, electronics and personal care industries from Dow. "With our recent acquisition of Rohm and Haas, the center is a demonstration of our continued commitment to transforming the company into the New Dow – a more market-facing and customer-oriented company," said Andrew N. Liveris, chairman and CEO of Dow. |
