HSBC Jinan branch launched

Jinan’s first foreign bank opened its doors July 21 after Jinan HSBC Bank (China) Co Ltd launched a branch in the capital of east China’s Shandong province.

The bank, which has its headquarters in Shanghai, is .the company’s 20th branch. The Jinan branch will serve high-end customers, foreign-invested enterprises and top 500 companies focusing on 12 cities in Shandong province including Jinan, Zibo and Binzhou.

Huo Jiazhi, president of HSBC Shanghai, said: “We are well positioned to provide services to local businesses and help them enter the world market.”

HSBC Bank (China) Co Ltd is a wholly-foreign-owned bank solely operated by The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Co Ltd since April 2, 2007.

HSBC Group is one of the world’s largest financial institutions with 9,500 branches in 85 countries and regions.

“As the capital city and financial center of Shandong Province, Jinan will provide preferential policies for HSBC Bank (China) Co Ltd,” said Jinan’s mayor Zhang Jianguo.
