The three-day 2010 China Retailers Convention & Exhibition officially opened in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, on June 25.
Nearly 800 government officials, leaders of chambers of commerce and commerce associations, retailers, suppliers, commercial real estate developers, service providers, investment institutions and international brand owners participated in the event.
With the theme "Care fort the livelihood of the people and stimulating consumption to create new opportunities for retailers in China," the conference explored ways to meet consumer needs and stimulate consumption.
In the conference's general assembly, Zhang Zhigang, president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce said that the country's circulation sector had great development potential.
In the next decade, the sector including retail distribution will witness development to a new level, he said.
