Keppel Land of Singapore is showcasing in Shanghai its strong expertise in integrated and waterfront development.
A forum themed "Making cities sustainable & livable" was held in the city over the weekend to discuss ways of how to make the theme come true, said Teri Liew, assistant general manager of Group Corporate Communications, Keppel Corporation Ltd.
The Keppel Bay waterfront precinct, Keppel's flagship development in Singapore, was showcased in an exhibition as well as in a presentation by renowned master architect Daniel Libeskind at the Urban Planning Forum organized by the Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority.
At the forum, Keppel also featured its eco townships across Asia, including the Botanica in Chengdu of Sichuan province, Central Park City in Wuxi of Jiangsu province, the Seasons in Shenyang of Liaoning province and its development in the Singapore-Sino Tianjin Eco-City as well as its proprietary waste and water treatment solutions.
The Botanica township, located in southeast Chengdu, will be developed over seven phases, yielding about 9,400 units in low-and high-rise apartment blocks supported by amenities such as schools, clubhouses, a market and recreational facilities.
Building on the success of the Botanica, Central Park City is a township within the Taihu New City in southern Wuxi. Comprising a total of 5,000 homes, its target market is the upper-middle income group.
In the Shenbei New District,Keppel Land acquired two adjacent sites and will unite them for an integrated township development comprising mid-and high-rise apartment blocks. The township, called the Seasons, is expected to yield about 4,700 homes.
